Invite the Bot
Click on Add App, select your server, and add the bot with the Manage Roles and Manage Nicknames permissions.
To be able to change a member’s nickname or role, the bot must have a higher role. Move the WoT Connect role above others to ensure this.
Linked Roles
Linked roles are a Discord feature that allows server members to obtain roles and showcase their stats.
Creation
In a role’s settings, go to Links, click on Add a requirement, and select "WoT Connect".
Then, specify the requirements that members must meet to obtain the role.
You can then add this role to a channel’s permission list so that it appears next to the nicknames of members who have it.
Obtaining
A member can access linked roles from the server banner.
They can also access it by clicking on the linked role displayed next to a member’s nickname in a text channel.
Once a member has obtained a linked role on your server, their stats will be displayed on their member profile.
Connection
There are several ways to connect a server member to their in-game account.
Button Authentication (Recommended)
Use the /connect command in a welcome channel to generate buttons that allow users to authenticate or disconnect.
Command Authentication
Members can use the /authentify command to authenticate and the /disconnect command to disconnect.
Manual Connection
You can connect a member using the /connect_member command or disconnect them using the /disconnect_member command.
Automatic Connection
If server members' nicknames exactly match their in-game nickname (with their clan tag in brackets, if applicable), you can use the /auto_connect_members command to automatically connect all unconnected members.
Nicknames
Use the /manage_nicknames command to choose how a member's nickname is displayed based on their connection and clan membership status. Each option is optional—the bot will only change members' nicknames for the specified options. If an option is set but left empty, the nickname will be removed when that condition applies. You can include dynamic properties in the options.
Not Connected
Nickname of a member who has not connected their account.
| Property | Description | Key |
|---|---|---|
| Username | The member's username | username |
For example, if the format entered is
username *, then the nickname of the unconnected member "Username" will be "Username *".

| Property | Description | Key |
|---|---|---|
| Username | The member's username | username |
| Region | The region the member is connected to | region |
| Nickname | The player's in-game nickname | nickname |
