What is TuneIn Radio & Podcasts?

TuneIn Radio & Podcasts is a free activity on Discord that allows users to listen to radio, music, podcasts, news, and other types of audio, together with your server! While in the activity, all participants listen synchronously so you can enjoy listening together.

Build your own library

Found a station you like? Favorite it by clicking the heart-shaped button next to the playback controls or on the station or podcast's profile page. It will then appear in your Favorites tab, making it easy to access your favorite stations.

How do I use TuneIn Radio & Podcasts?

You can launch TuneIn Radio & Podcasts in the Discord app for you and your friends, whether in a server’s voice channel, in a direct message (DM), or a group message.

Use the tabs at the top to choose a category of stations, or search for specific stations using the search bar. Once you've found a station, click the play button to start listening!

You’re in control of playback

• In Hosting Mode, only the host can select what to play and control pausing/playing.
• In Sharing Mode, anyone in the activity can select what to play and control pausing/playing for everyone else.

Each user can set and control their own volume for the activity. The volume control in the activity will not affect any voice channel or system volume levels.

FAQs

• Why does TuneIn Radio & Podcasts have ads? Ads help keep Radio & Podcasts free for everyone. The commercials you're hearing on radio stations or podcasts may be part of the broadcaster's stream.

• Why are some stations and content not always available in TuneIn Radio & Podcasts? You may not be able to listen to certain stations collaboratively for a few reasons:

  • The station may be streaming in a format that is incompatible with Discord.
  • Using a VPN may interfere with the broadcaster's stream.
  • Some stations restrict access based on territories, so participants in different countries or regions might not be able to listen.
  • Some stations may not broadcast specific shows or sporting events over the internet due to licensing restrictions.

• Why can’t I listen to TuneIn Premium content on TuneIn Radio & Podcasts? Currently, TuneIn Radio & Podcasts does not support sign-in with TuneIn accounts, including TuneIn Premium accounts.

• If I stop the audio, does it stop for everyone? Yes! Stopping the audio will stop playback for everyone. In Hosting Mode, only the host can stop audio, but in Sharing Mode, anyone can stop it. You can use your personal volume controls to mute audio playback if needed.

• Why do I hear different content on some stations than my friends? Some stations provide different streams based on your location.
