World News

**World News is a Discord bot that allows users to keep up with the latest world news through their Discord server. **

/news

In this command, users can choose any of the following 9 sources: the Associated Press, BBC News, CBS News, ESPN, ESPN Cricinfo, Fox News, Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Users also have to input the number of results they want the bot to give them, ranging from 0 - 5 results. The next option is optional, and it is the query option. This is the search query to find news articles based on that search. Lastly, the user can optionally tell the bot which page they want to fetch results from. Each page has its own set of 5 results, and the pages are segments in all of the news results which users can tell the bot to search through. Some images may not load.

/breaking-news

This command is almost the same as /news, but it retrieves the latest breaking news from all sources. It has the same options as /news, however, the command only searches for news articles released in the past 7 days, ensuring the news is not outdated.

/russia-ukraine

This command fetches news about the Russia-Ukraine war. It is similar to /breaking-news but does not have a query option and the options are results and page, which function the same as the other commands. This gets Russia-Ukraine news from the past 7 days, like /breaking-news.

/world-news

This command retrieves the latest top news from all sources and there is no source option in the slash command. It has all of the other options that /news has, which are results, query, and page, and they do the same function as in /news. However, the country option fetches news based on the country, and this gives the user the language provided by the news source categorized to a country.

/election-news

This command fetches news about the 2024 election. It is similar to /breaking-news but does not have a query option and the options are results and page, which function the same as the other commands. This gets the related news from the past 7 days, like /breaking-news. /subscribe Allows you to subscribe to daily news to any channel from any of the 8 sources in /news and /breaking-news.

/subscribe

Allows you to subscribe to daily news to any channel from any of the 8 sources in /news and /breaking-news.

/unsubscribe

Allows you to unsubscribe to daily news in any channel. This removes the source you selected along with the channel, so you must specify the source again when resubscribing.
