Pixel Fishing

A fishing game built on real fish, from the creators of Grow A Tree!

You start in the mangroves of the Philippines with a fixed spool reel and twenty live shrimp. Cast, watch the float, and reel the moment it goes under. Reel early and you spook it. Reel late and it spits the hook. A common fish gives you three seconds. A legendary gives you three quarters of one.

Every catch rolls a real weight for its real species. A fish heavier than your line snaps it and swims off with your lure. A perfect hookset is the only way to a trophy, the top five percent of what that species ever weighs.

Thirty species, every one a real animal. A mudskipper that drowns if you hold it under. A giant squid nobody photographed alive until 2004. Each carries its real weight range and a field note that is true.

Five depths, painted by hand. The Mangroves, the Fringing Reef, the Drop-off, Blue Water and the Philippine Trench, all drawn by @pxl_boi. Deeper water costs in-game money and research credit to open, and the fish there are bigger and stranger.

Two things to do with a fish. Food fish sell by the kilo, in pesos. Fourteen of the thirty are protected and cannot be sold at all: tag and release those for research credit, which is what opens deeper water. You find out why they are protected as you go.

A record book you never finish. /dex keeps one plate per zone, your best of every species, and a page you can share without spoiling the fish nobody has landed yet. Five leaderboards rank your server, or everyone if you ask in a DM: heaviest, logbook, volume, research and trophies.

Nothing to buy. There is no real money shop.

Getting started. Add Pixel Fishing and run /fish. Press REEL when the float goes under, and /help explains the rest. Everything the game says is private to you, apart from the cards you choose to show off.
