--- How to Play Mafia

Mafia is a social deduction game where players are secretly assigned roles. One group is trying to eliminate the other and nobody knows who's who.

When a game starts, every player receives a secret role. There are two sides:

• The Town — Citizens, a Doctor, and a Detective
• The Mafia — one or more Mafia members

Your goal depends on your role. Don't reveal it to anyone.

The Roles

🧑 Citizen - You have no special ability. Your only weapon is your voice — talk, argue, and convince others during the day to vote out the Mafia.

🔫 Mafia - You know who the other Mafia members are. Each night, your team secretly picks one player to eliminate. During the day, you blend in with the Town and try not to get voted out.

💊 Doctor - Each night, you choose one player to protect. If the Mafia targets that player, they survive. You can protect yourself, but not the same person two nights in a row.

🔍 Detective - Each night, you investigate one player and find out whether they are Mafia or not Mafia. Use this information wisely — revealing yourself makes you a target.

How a Round Works

The game alternates between Night and Day.

🌙 Night

Everyone "sleeps." Behind the scenes:

• The Mafia chooses a victim

• The Doctor chooses someone to protect

• The Detective investigates someone

☀️ Day

The night results are revealed (who died, or if the Doctor saved someone). Then everyone discusses and votes for who they think is Mafia. The player with the most votes is eliminated. If votes are tied, nobody is eliminated.

How to Win

• Town wins when all Mafia members are eliminated
• Mafia wins when they equal or outnumber the remaining Town players
